Elöen is a rocky planet possessing both oceans and an atmosphere, making it and Atera the only two planets theorized to be habitable. Elöen was first observed with a telescope by Saskalan-Nykean Astronomers Eero Viinikainen and Freya Octavia in the year 1601. The two Astronomers described Elöen as being a "dull brown disc with blue markings and a white cap upon its crown". In the following decades more advanced telescopes revealed the presence of an atmosphere, volcanic activity, and an active weather system. No life appears to be present on Elöen, and the atmosphere contains large quantities of Carbon Dioxide and Argon. The presence of oceans and volcanic activity may however provide for the presence of life, though this might never be confirmed due to the high atmospheric pressure and surface gravity.

Elöen occupies a very similar orbit to Atera, with a slightly longer orbital period, causing the planets to exchange energy every few decades. This phenomenon was not understood until 1863, when the Saqalonian Astronomer and Physicist Flanq Ladom published "A Theory on the Chaotic Motion of the Spheres". While the phenomenon was not understood through a theory of physics until around this time, the approach and disappearance of Elöen has been a known occurrence throughout all of history. At its closest distance, Elöen appears as a small dot in the sky, visible during day and night by the naked eye. When at its furthest distance however, Elöen becomes obscured by the sun for several years.
