The NZG is an old and storied nation with a diverse culture and unique government. It was founded in the mid 1400s by the prophet Crug Crugson, who established it as a theocracy in God's name. As Crug Crugson's influence grew, Zenzovgorad began to incorporate much of its modern land into the country, mostly from the remains of the Skulkana Empire. It began to gain a majority of it's modern influence after the dissolution of the Skulkana Empire in 1598, at which point it fended off a band of rival nations emerging from the ashes of the Empire in the north, proving to its neighbors that Zenzovgorad could hold its own as a nation. In the early 1700s, after the gradual deterioration of the Church into a corrupt autocratic organization over a couple hundred years, the Holy November Revolution started, and the people took their nation from the upper class and established the NZG as a democracy. Afterwards, Zenzovgorad remained fairly peaceful, ironing out its government issues and fending off against internal corruption, slowly evolving into what it is today. This era was still overshadowed by the Great Plagues, the most severe of which spread in the 19th century and devastated the population. During the Great Plagues, the Nivnyetzi government swore itself to advance its medicine to prevent future epidemics, which is why the medical industry is focused on so much in the NZG. The most recent and one of the most important major events in Zenzovgorad's history is the Great War, which it was dragged into by a revolutionary group that had garnered the support of Donubara, a power-hungry regional superpower that had already invaded Skulka. Though its government over-exercised its power and its industry was devastated, Zenzovgorad managed to push through with help from Patalonia and other allies, surviving the war. The NZG currently seeks to rebuild itself up to the point where it can establish itself as a regional power, never having to deal with another Donubara-like belligerent again.
