"A collection of islands housing a handful of settlements, with a monarch to lead them
with varying success, then they were taken under the Donubara banner soon after Gensou was and remained as isolated villages for centuries and saw little of conflict until the industrial revolution. When the industrial revolution occured in Donubara, Gensou was one of the first regions to be industrialized. In the 1920's and 30's the island chain was used for it's strategic military value, when Donubara built several coastal batteries and air defense batteries. The main island became a replenishing point for Donubara warships patrolling the sea south of the nation. There was even a submarine pen built on one of the islands. Airfields were built as well and the islands became an important part of Donubara's coastal defense When Donubara was divided by the allies into multiple smaller nations, the island chain became a part of the nation of Gensou. After a bit of time, the people of the island chain were unhappy with the structure of Gensou's government and held a referendum for their separation and return to monarchy."
