Farewell Announcement
Over the past 2 months, I have been putting immense amounts of work into the ongoing event for the Prop Punk campaign. The primary reason I was putting extra work in to have things resume on March 3rd was specifically this event. The story has been building over the past 4 weeks, as a radio station told stories of a secret lab performing experiments on horses until they escaped. The story has continued on to have the horses taking over the world. The intention was to reveal later on that it was all a War of the Worlds style broadcast for April Fools.
Ironically, the event was supposed to end with the radio station apologizing for all the chaos that they caused, but somehow it bled into this server itself. Several people couldn’t handle the unusual circumstances of the event, such as the usage of a My Little Pony avatar for the horses. A moderator spoiled the whole event a day before it was slated to conclude, ruining the work I had put into getting things moving to begin with.
Prop Punk got into the situation that it’s in because Messier’s work was getting overwritten, Most recently was an attempt to switch out the tech tree with a temporary rule system, which led to all of their invitations being cut off. When he brought up his concerns, he ended up getting insulted in response. I had offered to help rectify the problem using several resources I already had available, and it was going to be a part of operations moving forward. Then the staff overwrote all my work on the event by spoiling it at its climax. When I brought my concerns up with administrators, they all downplayed my concerns. It’s an overall rejection of my work in the exact same manner that Messier was treated. Needless to say, it feels incredibly insulting.
Moving forward, I will no longer be participating in Prop Punk and will be focused solely on getting Zheifu operational again. I won't be explicitly barring usage of the bot, but I will be wiping data on a regular basis to optimize the development process until features are more stable and production-ready.
