The Tokaido Nuclear Crisis was a nuclear exchange that resulted in the collapse of Solair and Tasharkan (aka Tash). It began with a skirmish at a blockade set up by PAC (Pan Aritsian Coalition) as a Tokaido ship attempted to ram through. Tasharkan was fully dissolved whereas Solair severely weakened, despite being hit much harder.

Prelude
6-8 months before the beginning of the exchange, over 1000 high altitude recon aircraft (the superborzoi and borzoi) were flown over all of Solair, which were not shot down despite knowledge of them due to the price of SAMs.
Solair, on the other hand, had not done anything similar and did not have a proper plan in place for the eventuality of this war. Furthermore, Tasharkan had developed missiles whereas Solair had not, and had been planning to launch a nuclear strike later in 1954, but instead launched it slightly earlier in retaliation to Tokaido. This is what lead to the impacts on Solair being so much more severe than on Tasharkan.

The Pan Artisian Coalition (PAC) had set up a blockade of the Caturan Straight. A Tokaido civilian ocean liner attempted to ram through, killing several aboard the PAC warship, and subsequently sank. Shortly after, Tokaido launched an attack on the capital of Baria, Aziel. From the radio:
Uh, it seems that the city's air defenses have begun to open fire on a group of unknown aircraft. I'll repeat for those just tuning in, Aziel is currently under aerial attack.

At this point, Tasharkan responded by launching a nuclear attack on many members of Solair (Tokaido was a member), specifically targeting nuclear armed countries. A force of near one million Selenian reserve forces and civilian conscripts to our borders with Nykea and Courigan to maintain our sovereignty, additional an emergency relief force of three-hundred-thousand reserve troops and conscripts has been sent to the ruins of Dolistria to aid in emergency relief and rescue operations to try and assist any survivors.
An emergency order has been been given by both the remaining parliamentarians and the Supreme Leader, stating that anyone inside the borders of Selengrad with a major connection to the Tasharkan Pact is to be reported to a newly founded organization called the Dornia Alao Kersiange, I know many of you are not familiar with traditional Selenian so for those unaware, that mean the "Emergency Police Detention Force." Anyone with a major connections to the Tasharkan Pact will be taken to temporary detention camp Solanak until the parliament and Supreme Leader deem release viable.

Many nations who were lucky to be unaffected in the exchange took in refugees from affected nations.Saqalona took in 340,000 refugees from affected nations. Some extremist groups, namely those affiliated with the far right Unification party rioted against the immigrants. The largest riot was in Lusara and involved 40+ extremist rioters and almost 500 spectators, 6 people died due to trampling in the chaos of the riot (all bystanders).

Nuclear Fallout Hits Ciarrai

After a significant amount of time passed since the great nuclear war, meteorologists anticipated the inevitable introduction of nuclear fallout to our great nation. This morning, the prophesised event finally occurred, as extreme blizzards mixed with nuclear ash hit the Kerry, Airan and Ulster mountains to the north. Blizzards of course are not alien to these provinces, but the aforementioned nuclear ash can cause exposure to a significant amount of radiation that exceeds twice the daily amount of recommended background radiation and is very harmful if ingested through the lungs.
The provinces of Kerry, Airan, Ulster, Ard Macha, Armagh and Trailia have declared martial law and deployed CBRN/NBC Ground Forces National Guard and various civilian militias given NBC gear.
The BNH has advised residents of the northernmost provinces to keep windows shut when overcast weather is occurring or ash are present in the vicinity and only to go outside when absolutely necessary, wearing cloth covering all body parts. Citizens should discard said clothing once at home by leaving the clothing outside the front door where the National Guard will collect and safely dispose of said clothing so as to not radiate anything inside homes.
The nuclear fallout is set only to affect the North and will last only 10 days, however citizens of neighbouring provinces are advised to take precautions in case of changes of wind patterns.

The most severe estimates predict that up to a quarter of the world's population may die, though it is entirely unclear. Political players begin to advocate for not only peace, but a global response to the crisis. How the world's civilians will react is yet to be seen, but the seeds of unrest have been sown all around the globe.
